The Oakland Press is launching a new weekly feature called Student of the Week, open to all Oakland County students from kindergarten to 12th grade. It will run in our Tuesday YouthBeat section, which is geared toward younger readers.

To make this new feature a success, we need your help! Nominations, which can be made by educators, parents and other adults, are a two-part process. First, give us information about the nominee and a sentence about why you are nominating him or her. Then, have (or help) the student fill out a brief list of his or her favorite things. Several students will be highlighted weekly.

Special consideration will be given to those nominations that include pictures. Please only give us photos that we have permission to reprint in the newspaper. Photos may not be returned.
